About Artist

I was born and live in the village of Lovozero, Murmansk region in Russia. I am a master of Sami needlework in the fifth generation. All my life I preserve Sami art, carry my knowledge and experience for future generations.

Artistic / Creative activity

I am engaged in Sámi and Komi-Izhemian crafts: sewing of products from reindeer fur and reindeer skin, sewing of products from fish skin, embroidery with beads and tin thread, weaving and knitting from colored yarn, wet felting from wool, weaving on reed, sewing of traditional national clothes (Sámi and Komi-Izhemian), weaving from tree roots.

Professional activities

From February 16, 2015 to August 25, 2023 – Head of the Crafts Department of MBUK “Lovozero District National Cultural Center”.

From August 25, 1993 to February 13, 2015 – Master of Industrial Training of the State Educational Institution of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organization “Vocational School No. 26”.

Public activities

Since 1994 I have been a member of the public organization of Sami craftsmen and artists “Chepesi sāmj / Sami craftsmen”.
