(The Earth has three Worlds)

Artwork Description

In Selkup culture, the world is separated into three worlds. The Selkups live in the middle world – taiga people. They are engaged in fishing, hunting, gathering. They live in houses, observe the continuity of generations and inhabit nature with the spirits. Heavenly deities live in the upper world. Only birds can rich them. The Selkups deify the heavenly bodies: the Sun personifies life on earth and goes hand in hand with the Moon. And people see day and night.
